GROUP THERAPY & COMMUNITY HEALING

A Creative Space for Reflection, Connection, & Collective Healing

Healing in circles and in community is ancient. It is both a traditional and an effective form of addressing inner turmoil, discomforts, and vulnerabilities in order to create outer peace, harmony, and courage in your life. It may be intimidating to join a group but it may also feel fitting. No longer are you alone in your thoughts. Group therapy provides a space to relate to others. Even if you believe you are the only one carrying your unique weight and burden, with guidance from a therapist, you are heard, seen, and validated by the group. This makes it easier to let go of what you may have been holding on to so tightly, therefore making the weight lighter.

Groups can exist in different settings whether its within a community organization, a shelter, a youth center, or outdoors in the wilderness. Commonalities can also exist in age, culture, past experiences, and in forward changes. As a therapist with experience in community organizing as well as  a youth worker for 20+ years, I have had the honor to serve children, youth, college students, parents, men, women, queer/trans, and immigrant groups.
